It is with deep saddness to tell you that our 2008-2009 Department President and current NEC Virginia Ann Betsekas passed away this morning (Feb 9, 2010).
Services for Ann will be held on Thursday February 11, 2010 at the Arch L Heady Funeral Home, 2428 Frankfort Ave in Louisville, KY from 2pm until 7pm. ALA Unit 193 will hold a service at 7pm.
Cards can be sent to her family at 312 Pecan Way, Fairdale, KY 40118 - she is survived by her Steve (Huozda), her son Allen Pelly and her brother George Grissom. Steve will make sure the cards get to the right people.
The family has requested that memorial donations can be mailed to the ALA Dept of KY, PO BOX 189, Greensburg, KY 42743 - for the Alzheimer Foundation in memory of Ann Betsekas. (This was her special project last year).
Goodbye Auxiliary Sister “Ann”

Heavenly Father, We grieve for; celebrate her life; and pray for our departed Auxiliary Sister Virginia Ann Betsekas. She was taken from our lives suddenly, and those who knew her- loving family, friends and her American Legion Family need Hope and Understanding of why this gracious lady was taken from us. We pray that her friendship, love and leadership will continue to touch our lives; and we are better servants to you for being blessed with her to be in our lives. We thank you, Dear Lord, that you have made each of us in your own image and given us gifts and talents and love for our American Legion Family to serve you. Lord our Savior, we thank you for Ann; the years we shared with her, the gentle grace we saw in her, and the love we received from her. Now, give us the strength and courage to leave our Auxiliary Sister Ann in your care; to “Soar” with the Angels in Heaven. In Your Holy Name we Pray, Amen.
